Welcome To the Texas Houston Mission!

We are always happy to welcome new missionaries to our mission. We love waiting for them to arrive at the airport. People walking past us who have been on the same flight like to tell us they are coming! And how great they all are. It is fun to see them as we recognize them right away in their suits and dresses with their missionary name tags. We all greet with hugs and handshakes and lots of smiles. We then go to baggage claim retrieve their luggage and take it out to Elder Larson who is waiting with the trailer to load all the luggage. We often (President Peterson and I) then take a few missionaries with us to get the missionaries who are flying in from the CCM, the training center in Mexico. We then drive to the mission home for a Texas BBQ, all missionaries are interviewed by President Peterson and we have a testimony meeting then off to bed and back again the next morning for training and to meet their new companions.

March 2019 Elder Misa goes to Samoa and Sister Tseng and Hermana Leon to SLC

Our mission was blessed to have Elder Misa to be with us for a few months while he waited for his visa to Samoa which arrived in February and he flew to Samoa March 3. We also had 2 sisters from the Temple Square mission, Sister Tseng and Hermana Leon who returned to SLC March 20. We also said goodbye to our good friend Nanon Talley (LDSFS) who was such a help to out missionaries in need and to us in need of a great friend! She will now be working in SLC.

Transfers March 12-14 God Be With You til we Meet Again

Elder Stubbs (ASL) returned home Saturday March 9 and the rest of our returning missionaries (all sisters) returned home Wednesday March 13. We are now seeing missionaries return home who came to the mission after we arrived, we have watched their spiritual growth these past 18 months and are so proud of them. We enjoyed our time in the temple on Tuesday March 12. All the sisters spent the night in the mission home and had a hard time going to bed! Wednesday morning because of bad weather across the country all fights were delayed. They arrived home many hours later then originally planned. All made it home safely and we look forward to hearing from them and seeing them again.
