Welcome to the Mission Elder Del Toro

Elder Del Toro arrived in the mission May 1 and will be serving in the ASL branch.  He is from Mexico and knows MSL (Mexican sign language)  He was in the Provo MTC learning ASL and English.

We are happy he arrived and ready to serve!

April Transfers

Monday April 22 7 sisters who are returning home arrived at the mission home at 3 pm to receive training and advice on going home.  We enjoyed a nice fajita dinner from Mama Juanitas and Blue Bell ice cream for dessert.  President Peterson interviewed the sisters (throughout the day) and after we had a testimony meeting and sang, God Be With You til We Meet Again.  The evening ended at 8pm which is early for us and we told the sister missionaries they could watch a church movie before bed.  We watched Ephraims Rescue and had popcorn and m&ms.  10:30 is was lights out!

We are so happy to welcome new missionaries to the Texas Houston Mission!  We always enjoy great meals together and everyone are so happy and relieved to meet their new companions.

4 Days of Zone Conference March 28, April 2-4

President Peterson decided to add one more day of zone conference going from 3 days to 4.  We learned about the importance of staying within sight and sound of our companion,  by reviewing parts of the new training videos on safety.  President Peterson taught about receiving revelation D&C 9:7-8, Alma 5:45-46 are a few scriptural examples and the assistants Elder Crouch and Elder Smedley taught on asking inspired questions and the conversion tracker.  We heard testimonies of departing missionaries, special musical numbers by missionaries and also enjoyed a great lunch made by the Relief Society in each stake building we were in.
The baptismal goal for April is 43.
