14 Returned Home

14 wonderful missionaries returned home after serving a faithful mission.  It is always bittersweet to see them leave, we know they will continue to serve faithfully wherever they go and whatever they do!

Elder and Sister Fellow Return Home with Honor

Elder and Sister Fellow arrived in the Texas Houston Mission a year and a half ago and completed their mission this month in February.  While here they were over Self Reliance and trained many wards and stakes.  They also helped to organize English Connect as we switched over from Daily Dose (teaching English to non native speakers), which required church members to teach and missionaries assisting.  We love the Fellows and will miss them here in the Texas Houston Mission.

BBQ at the Mission Office

Elder and Sister Larson hosted a BBQ at the mission office for all the senior missionaries to say goodbye as they were completing their 18 month mission.  The Larsons were blessed to be able to serve here and commute from their home nearby in the Woodlands.  Elder Larson had been in charge of the mission cars, phones and supplies.  Sister Larson was our secretary, answering phones, sending in the baptism forms among many other duties.

Behold, I am a Disciple of Jesus Christ....

Each day our missionaries recite the mission statement and missionary purpose before leaving their apartments for the day.  We also recite this at each district council, zone conference, MLC, New Leader training, 8-Week training, & New missionary training.  President Peterson recently added a scripture, 3 Nephi 5:13 and switched out words such as we and our for My and I.

3 Nephi 5:13
"Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.  I have been called of Him to declare His word among His people, that they might have everlasting life."

My discipleship is settled, I am faithfully prepared, exactly obedient and lovingly bold.  I will see miracles and accomplish my missionary purpose as I unite with the Lord in hastening His work.  We are the Texas Houston Mission.

My purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end.
