Dear Sisters and Elders -
Over the past week, many of you shared mission miracles that occurred immediately after our mission-wide fast for each companionship to baptize during the month of December. One of you wrote:
"We had a miracle yesterday. We have been praying for a baptism in December and we did not feel that any of our current investigators were going to make it. So, we prayed and of course participated in the special mission fast. That day at church a man showed up and explained that he wanted to be a member! It turns out he is a former investigator from over a year ago. We have another appointment with him this week!"
Another one of you wrote:
"We had an awesome experience with the fast! We were able to meet with an investigator who we haven't seen in weeks. Her mother had been against her baptism. However, the mother felt that day when we called that she really needed to stop postponing her daughter's lessons. We set a date with the young girl for the 22nd! Also, we ran in to another investigator yesterday at the apartment complex, and it turns out his girlfriend moved out of his apartment. Long story short...nothing is holding him back from his baptism now! He is also set for the 22nd. The Lord is obviously paving the way."
Sisters and Elders, there are tens of thousands prepared to receive the gospel right here in the Houston area. We need to have faith that "the Lord is preparing people to receive [us] and the restored gospel. He will lead [us] to them or He will lead them to [us]" (PMG, p. 155).
Let us each pray with faith and work with diligence so that we will find those He has prepared. May we each exclaim, as did Alma, "The Lord did hear my cries, and did answer my prayers, and has made me an instrument in his hands in bringing so many...to a knowledge of his truth" (Mosiah 23:10).
Thank you for your prayers of faith and diligent work.
Sure love you,
President Pingree
