December Transfers

To the missionaries of the great Texas Houston Mission,

We have been inspired by the effort that you have been making to make this Christmas a White Christmas! As we have completed transfers, so many of the departing missionaries commented how their favorite Christmases in their lives were those spent in the mission field. We hope you are making the most of the season by sharing the message. There is no sense saving our "He is the Gift Cards". Let's make sure we are making the most of this important message!

We especially hope you are each committing to take advantage of the evening hours to find. That's when people are home. Here are a couple of quick suggestions:

1. If you have progressing investigators, try to set your teaching appointments at 8pm so when you're done you can go home. This will also allow you to have productive finding time when families are home from 6-8pm.

2. Do all you can to have members present with you during every lesson after the first one. In Ch 13 of PMG we read: "before baptism and confirmation, ensure that members are present at every lesson, if possible. These members should be with the investigators often to answer their questions, understand their challenges, and encourage them."

3. We can still do a better job of following up with our investigators between lessons. Members can be a key ingredient in the follow up and progress of an investigator. Make sure you are using the ward council to identify members who have the most in common with those you teach so we can help them develop the relationship that will be so crucial for their long term activity in the church.

We are excited to see you at the Christmas Conference. We are going to have a wonderful time celebrating the birth of the Christ child together. We love you and pray for you every day!
