To you who have been followers of this blog over the past three years, we have loved serving with your missionaries. They have blessed our lives in countless ways as well as the lives of the thousands of members and those who they teach. We want to express our gratitude to you for your kind cards and well wishes as well as your faithful prayers. They have been little tender mercies along the way and we love you for them.
We hope to meet you one day and express our gratitude to you for raising such valiant children. In the meantime, we extend our love and best wishes for you and your families!
President and Sister Mortensen
To the Missionaries of the Great Texas Houston Mission,
Words can't describe the joy that has come into our lives as we have labored alongside you in this great work. We feel so blessed to have been here as the Lord has wrought such great miracles in this part of His vineyard.
In describing his experience working with and witnessing miracles through the profit Joseph Smith, Oliver Cowdery said "These were days never to be forgotten." These are the words we feel describe our experience in the Great Texas Houston Mission as we have worked together with you and the faithful saints here to strengthen and establish His kingdom.
There is great momentum here in both vision and faith. We are counting on each of you to live up to your full potential so you can become who you have been foreordained to become. You are among the noble and great, valiant in the testimony of Jesus. The Lord will bless you as you strive to be faithfully prepared, exactly obedient and lovingly bold.
We love you and look forward to seeing you again after you have honorably complete your full time missionary service.
God be with you until we meet again!
Love,
President and Sister Mortensen
