Back To Normal

In the last blog update, I shared about our mission conference.  Our missionaries were inspired by the training and have made changes in their work and their lives.  It was wonderful to be together with the entire mission but normally we divide into two or three separate zone conferences.  Below is a picture of all the missionaries.  What wonderful, dedicated missionaries we have.  It is a pleasure and honor to serve with them.

Our schedule is getting back to normal now, with service opportunities tapering down to a regular 7-10 hours per week.  The missionaries serve in the Houston community teaching Spanish, family history, oral hygiene, helping in food banks and other worthwhile activities.

To build our teaching pool, the missionaries are working hard to find new investigators.  As a mission, we have set a goal to find 1,400 new investigators in October.  We are excited to achieve this important goal and know that the Lord will lead us to those who are prepared to hear the message of the Restored Gospel as we exercise faith.

A new development in the THM is the greater use of social media to proselyte and teach.  The Lord has provided technological tools to help us reach more people.  We are excited to use these tools in our work with the good people of Houston.

The missionaries enjoyed the Church's General Conference this past weekend.  We were uplifted and motivated by the inspirational messages.
