The Work Continues

Our apologizes for not publishing the blog for a few weeks.  There has been a lot going on in the Texas Houston Mission.  We'll make up for it by reviewing the past 7 weeks and with many photos.

The THM missionaries have been busy Lighting The World since Thanksgiving.  We're sure you see many of their FB posts.  They are using FB and Messenger to teach investigators and stay in contact with them and members.

Each Friday President and Sister Peterson attend a District Meeting where missionaries review their investigators' progress, are trained and practice their skills to make them more effective.

We held zone conferences in November and recently had a Mission Tour where Elder Benjamin De Hoyos and Sister De Hoyos of the Seventy met with missionaries and mission leaders to instruct us on ways to involve members in the work and how to help investigators come to know their Heavenly Father, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost by praying, reading the Book of Mormon and attending church.  The missionaries were inspired and learned many new practices they were excited to implement in their missionary labors.

In early December, we said farewell to more faithful missionaries.  These are leaders in the mission and their departure requires newer missionaries to step into important leadership positions.  We will miss these awesome servants.

Snow For The First Time In Houston In 9 Years. It Was a Christmas Miracle For Some Missionaries From The Northern Country. For Others, It Couldn't Melt Fast Enough!

As fast as they go home, more missionaries arrive (same day!)  We are excited to have these new, wonderful missionaries here with us.  They have been oriented and given excellent companions to train them.  They are already experiencing miracles.
