December A Month of Light, Miracles and Christmas

In December we held our monthly MLC, 3 Stake conferences, a mission Christmas zone conference, Transfers the week before Christmas, Senior missionary FHE, new leader training, Faith meets Families at the Houston temple, lots of packages delivered to apartments and the mission office, lots of teaching, baptisms, treats, cookies and testifying of Jesus Christ and the restored Gospel.

On December 4 we had our regular MLC with the zone leaders and sister training leaders,  afterwards we had all the Spanish zone leaders/STL attend a Spanish MLC to discuss the many opportunities and growth among the Hispanic population here in Houston.

The following week we enjoyed a Christmas Zone conference for 2 days with half the mission one day and the other half the next.  In the morning we enjoyed talks and special music by the missionaries including a trio with the assistants, Elder Wyman, Elder Crouch and President Peterson with Sister Hill on piano.  We watched Mr. Krugers Christmas, played a trivia game, Christmas memories and had lunch catered by a wonderful sister in the Tomball stake Sister Bobbie Sevy. Everyone received a hardback copy of the book of Mormon with a note inside from President and Sister Peterson asking everyone to mark all references to the doctrine of Christ by March 10.  We are excited to be reading and marking together and to share our experiences.

The third week we had a FHE with the senior missionaries, we had a white elephant gift exchange most of which was candy!  The next day were transfers. We said goodbye to 2 missionaries, Elder Kirby and Sister Cottrell and hello to 3 missionaries.  We  enjoyed talking to our families on Christmas day and sharing the gospel the whole month with Light the World!

Also during the month we had stake conferences, stake correlation meetings, district councils, office meetings, p-days, finding people to teach, teaching people, baptisms, attending the temple with a sister who went for the first time to receive her endowment, missionaries who returned home to come back to Texas for a visit, delivering over 200 packages on December 24 that were in the mission office.   Just the regular things we do each day!

We look forward to a year of new possibilities, miracles, baptisms and increased faith in our Savior Jesus Christ.
