Zone Conferences

This week the THM held two zone conferences.  Three zones gathered on Tuesday and four on Wednesday.  As always, it was wonderful to be together in friendship and love and learn how to be more effective missionaries for the Lord.  After car inspections, missionaries gathered in the chapel for meetings.  During the morning hours, President Pingree continued to teach the missionaries the Doctrine of Christ and then they learned how to plan more effectively and the importance of member-present lessons.  During lunch, birthdays were celebrated and certificates presented to companionships with near-perfect apartment inspections.  After lunch, missionaries were instructed on important health principles, bicycle safety and our hurricane evacuation plan.  President Chappell then spoke, followed by amazing testimonies from missionaries who will be leaving in the next two transfers. We were also blessed to hear beautiful musical numbers and learn a new THM hymn written by Elder Zurligen (lyrics written below).  We thank ALL who participated and helped make the conferences possible for the missionaries!  Please enjoy some pictures taken during lunch and after the meetings.

Texas Houston Mission Hymn
(to the tune of Adam-Ondi-Ahman)

Oh children of the latter day,
thou rising generation,
The call has come! Do not delay!
Make haste, ye saints, and come away
to the Texas Houston Mission.

From Katy, o'er to Spring and Klein
and up to College Station,
there are tens of thousands we must find,
that need their Savior's love divine
in the Texas Houston Mission.

The worth of every soul is great
in God's eternal vision.
The field is white, the hour is late.
The just for their redemption wait
in the Texas Houston Mission.

Then let us go with unity
in heart, in mind, in passion!
Oh, Great Redeemer, grant that we
thy messengers of truth may be
for the Texas Houston Mission.

Till all have heard the message sweet
of life and of salvation.
And when our journey is complete,
what joy shall flow when friends we meet
from the Texas Houston Mission!
